14-year-old diver Quan Hongchan from China has set a new world record for diving in the 10m category.

To win gold, she had to beat her 15-year-old compatriot Chen Yuxi, who came into the event as the world champion.

Quan finished on 466.20, well ahead of Chen’s 425.40 while 29-year-old Australia’s Melissa Wu, was third on 371.40.

As a result, China has now won all four women’s diving events at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics in Japan.
