If you’re based in or intend to target audiences in the US and want to create an ad campaign that relates to credit, employment, housing, social issues or political ads, you must choose the category that best describes your ads from the Special ad categorydrop-down menu.You can boost active stories and stories that have been featured in your highlights or archived.Before you begin
Some creative elements are not available for ads that run in Stories. Avoid using tappable interactive elements, such as @ mentions, hashtag stickers, location stickers, question stickers, link stickers and polls, in Stories you’d like to boost.
For Branded Content ads, you can use hashtags, @ mentions and location tags in Branded Content Stories ads. However, make sure that you avoid using GIFs, emojis, music, link stickers, more than one sticker and other creative tools in Stories that you’d like to use in Branded Content ads.To boost an active story:1Go to your profile.2Tap your profile picture to access your story.3At the bottom of the story’s image or video, tap Boost.4Select Boost from the options.5
Fill in the details of your ad by setting things such as Audience (who you want to reach), Budget (how much you want to spend) and Duration (how long you want your ad to run). Tap Next (iOS) or (Android) once you’ve completed these details.6To complete your ad, tap Create Ad.You’ll receive a notification in your activity feed after you’ve submitted an ad for review, when it’s getting reviewed, if it’s approved or disapproved and when the campaign ends.Stories that are boosted will run for as long as you set the duration for. The active story on your profile will expire after 24 hours; however, the boost story will still run as an ad. You can also use the Boost button for archived and highlighted stories.
